feature celebrating inspiring western australians
Four outstanding Western Australians have been recognised as the 2022 WA Australian of the Year Awards recipients, accepting their awards from the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia.
Recipients from each category – Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year, WA Local Hero and the WA Australian of the Year – were commended for their significant contributions to the community and their efforts to improve lives and inspire others.
They’ll join the other state and territory recipients as national finalists for the national awards announcement on 25 January 2022.
Chevron Australia managing director Mark Hatfield welcomed award ceremony attendees in an opening address and said every finalist represented the qualities of Human Energy.
“These members of our local community have made a profound impact to the lives of others around them. They have each seen a problem and applied their talents and passion in pursuit of a solution,” said Mark.
