feature women in engineering applications open
Diversity and inclusion is at the core of who we are at Chevron, that’s why we’re committed to creating prosperity for everybody in the communities we operate in.
Since 2010, we’ve partnered with South Metropolitan TAFE to deliver the Women in Engineering program (WiE) – a twenty-week course offering students valuable foundation skills needed for employment within the oil and gas industry or higher STEM education pathways.
WiE aims to remove barriers which often discourage women from entering the resources sector by pairing a supportive learning environment with unique insights shared by women working in a diverse range of industry roles.
With access to a live gas processing plant training facility, students grow their capabilities and understanding of safety procedures through hands-on technical experience and build their confidence in using site equipment.

Chevron Australia supports the program by providing 14 fully funded scholarships, as well as linking students with mentors who serve as role models throughout the course.
Applications for the 2019 program are now open. Females from all ages and career backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Those who successfully complete the program will obtain a Certificate III in Engineering – Process Manufacturing and will have the option to complete Certificate II in Process Plant Operations.
Applications close Wednesday 29 May and students must be available for the duration of the 20-week program commencing on Monday 22 July 2019.
