Thanks to ongoing support from the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, Onslow School enters the new school year with additional staff to support classroom teachers, with a focus on literacy and numeracy outcomes.

Onslow School Principal Jacqueline Barry said she was pleased with the outcomes achieved through the partnership, which last year funded Learning Support Coordinator and Education Assistant roles.

"By having the additional teaching resources, we can cater for individual student needs in literacy and numeracy and provide a more personalised approach to education. We have seen an increase in student achievement across the school as a result."

The Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project will also support Onslow Primary School’s involvement in the Fogarty Edvance Program – a Whole School Improvement Program that aims to increase student achievement.

Chevron Australia Senior Community Engagement Advisor Tiffany Winch-Buist said the partnership was part of our broader commitment to deliver long-term social and economic benefits in Onslow.

"The provision of quality education is so important for local families, including Wheatstone's permanent Onslow-based workforce.”

"We've sponsored the school for more than a decade now and it's important we keep evaluating our programs to ensure they're meeting the changing needs of the community.”

The Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project also funds V Swans, a local community group which runs educational and developmental programs at the school, including an early childhood fundamental movement skills program and a Certificate II in Sport and Recreation for high school students.
