feature chevron brings new health service to onslow
At Chevron Australia, we’re committed to promoting healthier communities and increasing access to quality health care in areas where we operate.
That’s why the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project proudly contributed $22 million to the construction of Onslow's brand-new hospital and health service which was officially opened yesterday.
Chevron Australia Production Operations Manager Rob Dobrik attended the opening event and said the new hospital and its increased capacity to deliver health services to the community was a testament to all involved.
“We have been working closely with the State Government, WA Country Health Service and the Onslow community to deliver improved health services to benefit both present and future generations,” Rob said.

The new Onslow Health Service facility includes an expanded emergency department with three acute care bays and one state-of-the-art resuscitation bay; a six-bed inpatient unit with modern, single rooms each with an ensuite; a purpose-built medical imaging room and a new dental clinic.
The modern outpatient centre includes purpose-built rooms for child health, community mental health, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and community health nursing.
The high-tech ICT and communications technology will enable telehealth links so that patients have access to a wide range of specialists across the region and in Perth.
The building's distinctive curved roof design reflects the colours and landscape of the Pilbara, with a wide balcony with views out to Beadon Bay. The new building also includes artwork collaborations created by Onslow residents, coordinated by artist Simon Gilby.
Chevron has contributed more than $250 million to upgrading Onslow’s social and critical infrastructure with numerous projects progressively realised as the Wheatstone facility advanced from construction through to operations, including the airport, aquatic centre and water and power infrastructure upgrades.
