feature chevron crowned 2018 WA corporate volunteer of the year

At Chevron Australia, we take our responsibility to help meet the needs of people who aspire to a better quality of life seriously, and we encourage our employees to volunteer their time and resources to the community.

This year, we were named Volunteering Western Australia’s Corporate Volunteer of the Year – an award which recognises companies that have affected significant community impact through employee volunteering programs.

In 2017, our employees logged 3,247 volunteer hours across Western Australia during their work and personal time. In Onslow – the town closest to the Wheatstone LNG Project – our residential employees and their family members contributed more than 1,700 hours to help the local community.

Chevron was nominated for the award by United Way WA, our community partner for corporate volunteering and workplace giving programs since 2009.

The awards dinner was attended by dignitaries such as WA Minister for Seniors and Ageing; Volunteering; Sport and Recreation Mick Murray MLA and WA Governor His Excellency Kim Beazley, who delivered a passionate address to volunteers, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to helping others.

Volunteering is a key component of our Harry Butler Legacy Project, alongside nurturing an inspired workforce, meaningful third-party collaboration and addressing knowledge gaps.
